Brands Come Together to Show Their Support for Ukraine

British retailer, Marks & Spencer, has signed up as headline sponsor for a televised concert to support Ukraine on the 29th March.

ITV, STV and Livewire Pictures have all joined forces with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and media and entertainment group Global, to host a two hour fundraising concert for the humanitarian appeal in Ukraine.

A line-up of artists and presenters will be announced soon, and the broadcast will feature a number of music performances and short clips about the ongoing relief efforts in Ukraine.

The event will be broadcast across ITV and STV networks, as well as ITV Hub and STV Player.

Viewers will be able to donate throughout the evening, and the broadcast is expected to raise more than £3m. All sponsorship and advertising revenue will be donated to the appeal to help suffering families get the aid they desperately need.

Katie Rawcliffe, head of entertainment commissioning at ITV said, "Music is a very powerful tool when it comes to showing support and solidarity, and at ITV we are proud and privileged to be working with Livewire Pictures, Global, M&S and the DEC on such an important and necessary fundraising event."

These thoughts were echoed by M&S COO Stuart Machin.

He said, "Watching this escalating humanitarian crisis, we all want to find a way to make a difference. Our customers and colleagues have already been incredible in their response and by getting behind ITV’s Concert for Ukraine, it gives us all another way to show our support and raise vital funds for those so urgently in need."

Focus on what works.

For any business owner, you need to see a return on investment.

Any tools, channels, or strategies you use in your marketing efforts, must be generating some sort of value.

Otherwise, it’s pretty much money down the drain.

And, I’m yet to meet one business owner who can afford that.

You need to understand what areas are performing well, and what areas are falling flat so you can decide where to utilise your budget.

If you need help working this out, check out our post about performance marketing, which enables you to maximise your budget and yield better results.

The Dam Rebrand Explored …

When you’re undergoing a rebrand, you need to have a clear understanding of the direction you’re going in as this sets the tone for the entire project.

In our latest rebrand review series, we’re looking at the plant-based, milk alternative beverage, Dam.

They’re on a mission to reduce unnecessary waste, which is visually represented through their brand identity.

Featuring a stripped-back, minimalist aesthetic which puts the logo front and center, it ties into their ethos and represents a brand with a practical purpose.

It doesn’t require distracting graphics or fancy icons, as Dam are on a journey to do good for the planet.

With a playful squashed logo, and milk that comes in buckets (yes, buckets!), there’s still a lot to squeeze out of this rebrand.

What are your thoughts? Is it a success or an udder failure?
