The dangers of using bracket notation?

MegaloprepusCaerulat

MegaloprepusCaerulat

There are two ways to access properties in an JS object, dot notation and bracket notation and I know that most of developers uses bracket notation when they want to dynamically access properties in an object, recently I came across an article talking about dangers of using bracket notation, the article is simple and not detailed, I kind understand what the article is talking about but like I said the article is not detailed and also it did not show any kinds of solutions to prevent dangers of using bracket notation, so my problems are:

React: Cannot read properly 'map' of null

Fork

Fork

Working on a React app where you can search through an API and add favorites. I had the search working, but when I added the favorites method I am now getting a “TypeError: Cannot read property ‘map’ of null” error in my MovieList.js, pointing out my <React.Fragment> code.

Quick question regarding using rem for h1 and p elements in CSS

baconsoft
Andrew Holmes

baconsoft

Sorry if silly question but when I was reading about rem I understood it to mean
" 1rem equals the font size of the html element". So if you set the font size in the html element to say 20px. Then you set font-size of a h1 element to 1rem and font size of p element to 1rem, why are they different? I understand that they are supposed to be different sizes, but why are they not the same since I am referencing the relative font-size of html element? Again sorry if silly question but I cant seem to understand this one.

What’s wrong with “lack of focus”? Why does one need to have an unwavering vision of their their whole life in their front view at all times? It’s not like you’re squatting in an abandoned building because you couldn’t focus on paying rent, you’re simply in the “undecided” column on some of the more vague aspirational things of life. Maybe it’s even aspiration itself that you’re not sure of.

HTML/CSS aren’t programming languages, JavaScript is a programming language. HTML and CSS are just standards web browsers support to render things in the UI. By themselves they can do a few things, but only what the browser supports out of the box.

The glib answer - it is needed for all of the math to work

The real answer - ooooookaaaay…

My favorite way to think about factorial numbers in that n! means “how many different ways can I arrange n balls of different colors”.
