I agree the 12ax7 has too much initial gain but I also felt it had too little gain when turned all the way up. I prefer the 5751 in v1 as it gives you more clean range before it starts getting dirty, but without too much loss of volume. I have a 12ay7 in v1 as I prefer this for home use.

Tonite- 4/12/24- co-bill with a a reggae band that is one of our drummers 8 other bands. At the Bangor Arts Exchange. Will bring my Les Paul along with a Tele and run thru the Princeton mic’d up with a 609.
Should be an interesting genre mashup!
