If you’re trying to add more muscle mass, you don’t need more volume. You need to get strong. The biggest pencil neck mistake I see lifters make is they think they’re under training. They’re not. They’re under stimulating. There’s a difference. If your workouts are long, if you’re doing 5 exercises per body part, if you leave drenched in sweat, but your lifts aren’t going up, you don’t have a volume problem. You have a tension problem.

This is specifically true if you’re strength training naturally. You can’t out volume training. You can’t out volume poor progression.
