The UK is now not just backing Israel, it is being steadily stripped of its democracy and sovereignty, ready for conversion into a franchise of Israel. Through this wholesale betrayal of public trust and office, Starmer hopes to retain power and save himself and his cronies from jail.

Keir Starmer and Labour’s right wing face political oblivion at the hands of their own incompetence, vengeful factionalism and mendacity - a richly deserved demise drenched in cronyism, careerist self-interest and a hatred of socialism.

Now deeply unpopular and possessed of no discernible vision, principles or morals beyond short term political survival, these people are returning (with tiresome predictability) to the four pronged strategy with which they captured the Labour movement:

• Suck up to elite wealth, corporate capture, Israel and allied bastions of power.

• Manufacture and then weaponise false claims of anti-Semitism.

• Manipulate the reactionist racism of sections of the UK electorate

• Destroy democracy and install an authoritarian front man

This is how Mandelson, McSweeney, Starmer, Labour Friends Of Israel, Labour Together and all of their enablers at The Guardian et al worked together to:

• Undermine Corbyn’s authority in the party via false claims about anti-Semitism

• Deliberately sabotage Labour’s 2019 election chances by tying Corbyn to the politically toxic campaign to overturn the result of the Brexit referendum

• Shred every vestige of democracy in the party and begin a witch hunt / purge against the Labour left

Now in government thanks to the implosion of the Tories at the July 2024 general election, they are returning to the same plan, but their 2026 scheming ties them to far greater responsibilities and outcomes than factional warfare within the Labour Party.

First some volunteer-led ambulances run by the Jewish community were set on fire in north London - an incident which looked suspiciously staged, then on Wednesday a man known to be mentally disturbed attacked two men in Golders Green in London. Both incidents have been absurdly hyped in the British political / media complex as evidence of a ‘rising tide of anti-Semitism’ across the nation.

From that one knife incident (one of tens of thousands in London every year) we saw:

• the attack declared as terrorism before an investigation had even begun

• hysterical ‘coverage’ and posed outrage across almost the entirety of the UK MSM and political class that continues at maximum volume as I write

• £25 million pounds pledged to tackle this illusory tsunami of anti-Semitism

• the terror threat level of the entire UK raised to ‘severe’ (transparently ridiculous!)

• Starmer dashing to Golder’s Green to look sad (he was heckled of course which underlines just how hated he is by pretty much everyone)

• Starmer addressing the nation in a speech that lays the ground for the de facto end to the rights of free speech and peaceful protest in the UK.

The plot isn’t hard to see because it is drawn with crayons by people with the political nuance of an artichoke.

Step one: Criminalise Palestine Action as a designated terrorist organisation.
Step two: Manufacture / exaggerate ‘evidence’ of a mounting ‘threat’ towards UK Jews.
Step three: Smear all protest against Israel’s’ genocide in Palestine as anti-Semitic.
Step four: Pledge to tackle ‘anti-Semitism’ by banning protests that critique Israel.
Step five: Pass legislation that criminalises free speech and free protest.

In service of this plan Starmer dashed to smear pro-Palestinian protesters as “venerating the murder of Jews” promising to do “everything in our power to stamp this hatred out” - Starmer’s explicit smear being:

“If you stand alongside people who say ‘globalise the intifada’, you are calling for terrorism against Jews, and people who use that phrase should be prosecuted. It is racism, extreme racism, and it has left a minority community in this country scared, intimidated, wondering if they belong.”

with the smear in place the plan was made explicit with Jonathan Hall KC, calling for a "moratorium" on pro-Palestinian marches, adding it was "clearly impossible at the moment" for them not to "incubate" antisemitism.

The danger to democracy from these people cannot be overstated, they are ruthless, unprincipled and scared for their own skins - if there is ever a legal reckoning for Gaza many in the British political/media class will face trials and lengthy jail terms and they know it.

These moves to delegitimise / criminalise dissent against Israel’s genocide and British participation in it are:

• Designed to protect the people making them from facing criminal prosecutions, cases that could easily flow if any kind of a left-wing coalition came to power in Britain.

• Trying to pander to the perceived racist and pro-Israel sentiment of voters that have deserted Labour for Reform.

• Part of the ongoing de facto destruction of democracy in the UK, attempted so that people like Blair, Starmer, Mandelson, The Guardian, the BBC and the rest of the UK establishment need never be troubled by it again.

Why are people surprised by this? If a political and media clique can deceitfully manufacture evidence of anti-Semitism to gain control of a political party and then shred its democracy, then why wouldn’t the same people repeat that process in government?

Reform and the Tories are on the same mission as Starmer’s Labour (they both rushed out statements heartily backing ‘tough’ action against pro-Palestinian marches) and all are backed by the capture of public life by lobbyist cash.

The UK is not just backing Israel’s’ genocide (and where do we imagine that this impulse to silence dissent against Israel really comes from?) - it is danger of becoming a franchise Israel.

A nation where democracy has been subverted to be replaced by a fascist police state, a nation at war with itself and divided along fault-lines of ethno-religious hatred…is a nation in which the 0.1% can laugh inside gated communities and gather ever more wealth and power.

If we don’t want to live inside the gathering Israelification of the UK then we had better start organising to defend what remains of British democracy - its end is now clearly signposted by the usual suspects…

…and with Trumpian swagger, they aren’t even troubling themselves to hide it anymore.
